Maintree Farm has many great staff members, but here are some of the hardest working ones!

Fella
I am Fella, I am not a lesson horse, but I am a dragon! I am being highlighted here because I recently celebrated my 20th anniversary at Maintree and am looking to sell my story and make it big in show biz! (I heard Secretariat was getting his own movie...) If you are a big Hollywood producer, (or someone who loves a good horse story), feel free to click on my picture and read my story. It's kind of a love story, so have some tissues handy!
Petey
My name is Peter Pan, but call me Petey! I'm a bay welsh cross pony with a really cute snip on my nose. I am 13 hands high (hh). I'm great for beginner shows in that I will do anything that you ask of me and I have been doing it for many years. Though I don't get them often, I love poppy seed bagels, especially before a show.
Jenny
My name is Jenny, and I'm a 14.1 hh chestnut, welsh pony, mare. I don't mean to brag, but I am one of the favorites of the kids at Maintree. I love to take good care of my beginning riders and teach them not to be afraid of riding. I'm patient and tolerant, and I can do a lot of things like show, fox hunt and lessons. Maintree needs me! (I may just have to ask for a raise!)
Termite
My name is Termite, and I am a 14.1 hh red roan, welsh pony, gelding. A lot of kids have won blue ribbons on me, but now I mainly just give lessons. I love trail rides, quiet hands and carrots. They say my canter is like sitting in a rocking chair... that's a good thing, right? I will jump itty bitty cross poles or big vertical fences. I have a very important job to do at Maintree, and I do it!
Carpet
My name is Carpet Dance, but my friends call me Carpet. I'm a 16.2 hh bay, thoroughbred gelding. I am a laid back, tolerant, all-around nice guy! I have lots of Maintree buddies but am always looking to make more! Come and meet me! I'm always ready to give a riding lesson.
P.S. Bring carrots!
Lightly
Hi there! I'm Lightly, and I'm an 11 hh chestnut, welsh pony, mare. I just LOVE everyone!! I should be a cheerleader, because I'm always happy and smiling. I adore lessons, shows, fox hunting, anything where I can be around children and get pats and kisses. I will do anything to please you. Some say I'm a little quick at the canter, but it's just because I'm so happy!!
Sandy
I am a palomino quarter horse who came to Maintree with my friend Bucky a few years ago. I am 14.3 hh, and I am still learning, but I am a good horse for intermediate riders who are patient with me.
Hayley
I'm Hayley, and I'm a 15.3 hh bay, thoroughbred mare. My very favorite thing to do is jump! I just LOVE it, and I am looking for people who share my enthusiasm for jumping. Let's jump some oxers together!
Taggert
I'm Taggert. I'm a 16.2 hh bay, thoroughbred gelding. Yep, I'm a big guy, and I enjoy arena work, lessons and jumping. I much prefer the city life to the outdoorsy life, as I'd rather be ridden in the ring than on the trails. I have been told that I jump very well, and I was voted the National Capitol Adult Equitation League (NCAEL) Horse of the Year in 2008-2009.
Ruby
I am a bay thoroughbred mare. I am 16 hh. Many say I am very sweet and I am eager to please.
Cozy
I'm Cozy, and I'm a 16 hh gray, thoroughbred gelding. I'm fairly new in town, and I am looking to meet friendly, outgoing people for riding lessons, grooming sessions, good conversation and lasting friendships. Oh, and treats! Definitely treats!
Sadie
My name is Sadie, and I'm a 12 hh palomino, welsh pony, mare. Don't hate me, because I'm beautiful. I am an uptown girl with impeccable fashion sense. If I was a person, I would look fabulous in a tiara. I allow lucky riders to accompany me to shows and out fox hunting. If you get to join me for a lesson, you should feel privileged. And for the record, I picked Maintree to be graced with my beauty.
Joy
I'm Joy, and I am a 15.2 hh gray, thoroughbred mare. My registered name is "Something to Talk About", and if I may say so myself, indeed I am! I know my job in and out of the show ring, the hunt field and the lesson program. Call me and come see me, and I'll show you what I can do!
Rhett Butler
I'm Rhett, a 17 hh thoroughbred stallion. Years ago I won the Kentucky Derby, but was forced out of Triple Crown competition because of jealousy. I basically look after all the other horses and give them lots of tips about riding. My favorite movies are Racing Stripes and Dreamer. I don't like Shrek cause everyone who sees that movie, calls me "Donkey".

Wonderful horses that have left us, but will never be forgotten:
Samson
A 16 hh chestnut thoroughbred/draft cross gelding. We never let his size intimidate us, because he loved people, and his heart was as big as his feet! He was really good with beginners. He loved long grooming sessions, treats of any kind and quiet walks in the woods. He retired to Beth's barn about a year ago but he always regarded Maintree as home and escaped frequently to go back there. Now his spirit will be at Maintree forever.
KC
A 16.2 hh chestnut, thoroughbred gelding. Was quite the story teller. Loved to share tales from his glory days of winning hunter trials, fox hunting and how he always took care of his riders. Some said he was lazy, but really, he was just not into going that fast. That was just one of the things that made him a really great partner for lesson riders. KC, you have earned your rest.
Runway
A 15.3 hh gray, thoroughbred gelding. He was quite an athlete in his racehorse days. Runway really enjoyed teaching beginners to ride and being a part of Maintree's lesson program. He spoke two languages fluently: horse, and riding commands. Just say “canter”, and he was moving! We miss you Runway.
